Once we crossed into NM we had some different scenery. It was the longest leg of the trip, but at least the scenery began to change. NM had a nice entryway into their state and nice paintings on the over passes. I enjoyed the adobe buildings. I was fascinated by the fact that even apartments, Walgreens, McDonalds, and gas stations were all adobe looking. So different than MO! There was even a cool looking cemetary where all the tomb stones were in perfect rows. (My kind of organization!) Kamden liked seeing the mountains beginning to "grow up." Of course he kept calling them volcanoes and we had to correct him (which is no easy feat). Aaron thought it was particularly funny when you would look down the road and it looked as though a huge mountain was blocking it and how would we get around, through, or over it. That and the tractor and cattle crossing signs. We tried to get pictures but were unsuccessful!
